The simple version
DIBA Deals is a participant in several affiliate programs. When you click a deal on our site and buy something, we may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. This is how we fund the site.
Programs we participate in
- Amazon Associates Canada — We are an Amazon Associate and earn from qualifying purchases made through our Amazon.ca links (tracking tag: dibadeals-20).
- Amazon Associates US — We earn from qualifying purchases made through our Amazon.com links (tracking tag: dibadeals0c-20).
- CJ Affiliate (Commission Junction) — We earn commissions through merchants including NordVPN, SwitchBot, BraceAbility, Natura Market, Oedro, Adagio Teas, and others.
- Impact.com — Application pending; once approved, we will earn commissions through participating Impact merchants.
- Rakuten Advertising — Publisher account set up; we don't yet have a live Canadian retailer generating commissions through this network.
- Other networks — We may add additional networks over time. This page will always list them.
How affiliate links work
When you click a deal link on DIBA Deals:
- Your browser is redirected to the merchant's website.
- A tracking cookie (set by the merchant's affiliate network, not by us) identifies that you came from DIBA Deals.
- If you complete a purchase within the network's attribution window (typically 24 hours to 30 days), the network credits the sale to DIBA Deals.
- The network pays us a commission, usually a small percentage of the purchase price.
The price you pay is exactly the same whether you click through us or go directly to the merchant. We do not mark anything up.
Editorial independence
We choose which deals to list based on:
- Discount size relative to recent average price
- Product quality and customer ratings
- Relevance to Canadian shoppers
- Our own judgment about whether a deal is genuinely good
We do NOT list deals based on which merchant pays the highest commission. We regularly feature deals that pay us nothing or very little because we believe they are good for our readers. Sponsored placements (if any) are always clearly labelled "Sponsored".
Who requires these disclosures
We make these disclosures here, in the footer of every page, and alongside our deal listings because multiple rules require it — not because it depends on where you're visiting from:
- Amazon's Operating Agreement requires the specific phrase: "As an Amazon Associate, DIBA Deals earns from qualifying purchases."
- The US FTC's Endorsement Guides require clear, conspicuous disclosure of material connections like affiliate commissions in content that recommends or endorses products.
- Canada's Competition Act and Ad Standards' Canadian Code of Advertising Standards require clear disclosure of paid or commission-based relationships in advertising directed at Canadian consumers.
Your trust matters more than a commission
If you ever notice a listing that seems inaccurate, biased, or misleading, email us at editor@dibadeals.com. We'll investigate and correct it if warranted. Our long-term credibility with Canadian shoppers is worth far more than any single affiliate commission.
